Scientist have found that stem cells do not develop properly in balding scalps compare with hairy ones.

In 2003, umbilical cord blood became applicable to treat baldness. Researchers developed technology using umbilical cord blood mesenchymal cells. They showed that several weeks after transplantation, patience noticed, that hair started to grow back. Mesenchymal cells were transplanted directly into the bald areas.

Scientist believe that transplanting umbilical cord blood-derived mesenchymal stem cells into a bald area will make great contributions to treatment for baldness taking into consideration the fact that there is no alternative method for curing baldness.
